Leominster Festival Family Fun Day 2022

The fantastic Festival Fun Day is back and bringing all sorts of fun and games to the Grange on Saturday June 4th.

We’ll be adding more details as we get closer to the date but see below for what we have in store….

10 am, Grange Court Garden – Leominster Library’s Jubilee Bounce and Rhyme – come and join Angela for a babies and toddler session in the garden at Grange Court. It’ll be a lively half hour or so filled with rhymes, songs and fun, under cover if it rains. Come along for 10am and bring your little ones for a bounce – no need to book, just come along and have some fun.

10am – 3pm at Grange Court – Arts and crafts with Emma Beebee Art. Join local artist Emma and create your very own Jubilee crown or a mask to wear. Free and open to all ages to come and get crafty.

11am, Grange Court Garden – Music Tots is a fantastic music session for under 4’s – upping sticks from Ludlow and heading to Grange Court’s beautiful garden, just off the Grange in Leominster. Join Gersom and his insanely cool collection of instruments and songs for a lot of singing, playing and dancing – all for free for any little ones who want to come. No need to book.

Activities and fun on the Grange – from 11am!

Try your hand at flying! EVERYBODY DANCE invites you to come and have a go on their spectacular aerial dance rig. Using climbing harnesses and equipment we work low to the ground or a little higher if you want to. You can swing, glide, spin, and move in gravity-defying ways. We welcome all ages and abilities, in our 25 years of experience, everyone who has wanted to fly with us has been able to do so.

Free face painting and Bouncy Castle

Live music stage with Mark Richards – We’ll have live music from local bands and artists playing all day. Last year’s was brilliant fun!

Lion mask decorating with About Face Theatre – stop by their stall and decorate your own mask to join the Leominster Lion parade when he comes at 2:30

The Scouts County Jubilee Unit are doing free soft-archery on the Grange.

Festival Raffle – we have some fantastic prizes in this year’s raffle from our brilliant local businesses digging deep. Get your ticket at the Festival Stall and keep your fingers crossed!

Fun Dog Show – register your pooch in one of our fun rounds on the Grange from 11am. Dog Show starts at 1pm.

2:30pm – The Leominster Lion makes his grand parade! Join in with Kyiv the amazing lion puppet designed and made by Fetch Theatre with extra help from students at Earl Mortimer College as he makes his way from the Priory Church across the Grange and off to tea at the Leominster Museum’s 10th birthday party. There will be plenty of time to admire his beautiful mane as he regally makes his presence known with a ROAR! If children (or grown-up’s) have made masks – do wear them or flutter a flag as Kyiv passes by and give him your best Leominster roar too.

Food

Pizza Girls are back! These Ludlow gals came last year and made us some delicious woodfired pizzas. They’re back with a new, bright pink van for 2022 so you won’t be able to miss them. Come along and check them out.

Festival Sausage Sizzle – Roll up, roll up for tasty sausages provided by our brilliant local butchers. Both of Leominster’s finest butchers, Howard Mosely and Brights have donated some yummy sausages – served with a choice of onions or mustard or tomato sauce in hot dog bun.

JUST VW DESERTS are bringing you all the tasty treats! Jan is back with her van and the cakes and tray bakes don’t get better. Pop along and say hi!

The ice cream man – Mike is back with his ice cream van of treats. Fingers crossed the sun is shining!

Grange Court Cafe is open all day for their English Tea Party – stop in and help celebrate the Jubilee weekend with tea, coffee, scones and jam – and all sorts of other treats.
